Florida's Sweet Heart

The finest lychee in America

SweetHeart Lychee TM brand lychee fruit is a rising star and it's superior quality is what makes it so special. It's a fresh, large, luscious lychee with a very small seed. After you remove it's textured, crimson colored peel and taste it's delicious, fleshy, white fruit, you know that SweetHeart Lychee TM brand lychee fruit is indeed something special.

The tree is hearty and thrives in South Florida's sub tropical climate. Spring showers usually coincide with an annual lychee harvest. SweetHeart Lychee TM, less prone to anthracnose, produces high quality looking fruit. Other lychees are best eaten when the skin color is completely red, unlike SweetHeart Lychee TM which is usually red in color, but may retain some yellow color as well. SweetHeart's are some of the first lychees to ripen at the beginning of South Florida's fruit season, usually at the end of May or the beginning of June.

Lychee is perishable and should always be refrigerated. Fruit keeps best when closed in a zip lock baggie to maintain freshness. Frozen lychees can also be enjoyed all year. Freeze the fruit in it's shell and peel it after it's been only partially defrosted. There are countless ways to incorporate both fresh and frozen lychee into food recipes.

In 2010, SweetHeart Lychee brand was approved for a trademark. According to the trademark, individuals may purchase SweetHeart lychee fruit (and/or trees) for their own consumption without using the SweetHeart label. Whoever is selling the fruit or trees to others under the SweetHeart Lychee brand name, must use the designated label produced by Florida Star Groves, Inc. Label should be applied to a bag or a box of fruit and also on trees being sold.
